The Bombay High Court restrained Kaamakazi Solution Pvt Ltd and others from playing copyrighted songs without a license from Phonographic Performance Ltd (PPL). The court observed that PPL would suffer irreparable loss without its intervention. PPL filed for interim relief based on a social media post about the event. The court noted serious apprehension of copyright infringement at the New Year's Eve party and directed the defendants to refrain from playing recordings assigned to PPL until the suit is pending.
