Maharashtra's tally shoots past 6.5 lakh, MMR breaches 3 lakh

For the second day in a row, the state added over 14,000 cases—14,161—which is second highest for a 24-hour period— taking its total Covid-19 cases to 6,57,450. Also, for the third day in a row, Maharashtra registered over 300 deaths (339), taking the overall toll to 21,698. Mumbai saw 1,406 cases on Friday, highest in 36 days, taking its caseload to 1.3 lakh.
