Delhi: 'Rescue animals stranded in pet shops'

Days after Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) wrote to chief secretaries of states, asking them to vacate and rescue animals from pet shops across the city- Delhi Society For Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), animal husbandry department and Delhi Police have begun freeing the animals and sending them to Sanjay Gandhi Animal Care Centre (SGACC) where they will be kept temporarily. The birds will be sent to Delhi zoo.
