The BMC is expected to spend more on big-ticket infrastructure projects, including the Rs 12,000-crore Mumbai Coastal Road and the Rs 4,700-crore Goregaon-Mulund Link Road (GMLR), compared to last year. Missing road links, including the elevated road from Cuffe Parade to Nariman Point, may also receive sizeable allocation with CM Uddhav Thackeray recently having stressed on the need for the same to reduce traffic congestion. Municipal commissioner Praveen Pardeshi will present his first budget on Tuesday.
