The Chinese community in Kolkata stepped out in scores to vote in an Indian election on Sunday. They had earlier voted in civic and assembly elections but the participation had never seen such large numbers. “We’ve remained isolated from the voting process for too long. It’s time we staked a claim in the development and how India shapes in future,” said Jordan Lee, who had queued up at Bhagaban Chandra Khatik Primary School on Monday morning with wife Susanne and son Kenneth to vote for the first time.
