Today, the BSP's 'haathi' may not be the force it once was but with a vote share of 9.08 per cent in 2008 and 6.29 per cent in 2013, it remains a distinct X-factor in what is expected to be an extremely closely fought election between the two national parties. In the last election, the BSP won four seats, 2 from Morena and 1 each from Satna and Rewa.
